Äntligen i vattnet Finally in the water.

Idag är det onsdag. Sedan jag kom i söndags har vi arbetat intensivt med att få SallyRuth redo för vårens segling. Dessutom har vi hunnit med ett intensivt umgänge med våra brittiska vänner.
Idag har vi arbetat med olika viktiga saker.
Today is Wednesady. Since I arrived Sunday we have been busy getting SallyRuth ready for our spring sailing. And we have also spent time with our Brittish friends.
Today we have been occupied with different very important tasks.

Jag har provat ut en fällstol som vi fått av snälla båtgrannar från Zambia.

I have been testing a folding chair. We got 2 as a gift from kind boat neigbours from Zambia.

Slagen i bojor. In chains.

Lördag 13 augusti lämnar vi SallyRuth på land hos Dimitris. Vi lämnar henne bokstavligt talat slagen i bojor. Vi har tagit ut sidorutorna på överbyggnaden för reparation och säkrat med plast, board, tejp, mera plast och slutligen 60 m 8mm rostfri kätting. Vi tog ankarkättingen för att tynga ner plasten som en sista förstärkningsåtgärd. Det här tror vi håller till våren 2017 när kommer igen. Bye bye SallyRuth.
Saturday August 13th we left SallyRuth on the hard at Dimitris'. We left her literally in chains. We removed the windows from the sides of the superstructure for repairs and replaced them temporarely with plastic, board, duc tape, more plastic and finally with 60 m 8 mm stainless steel chains. We took the anchor chain as an ultimate security measure to weigh the plastic down. This will work, we think. Until spring 2017 when we will be back. Bye bye SallyRuth./ L

Återställning. Restoring.

Vi har haft förmånen att få låna en el-utombordare av våra goda vänner Sue och Brian. Deras båt ligger på samma ställe som vi. Idag kom SallyRuth upp på land och vi kunde återställa deras utrustning.
We have been fortunate enough to have been able to borrow an electric outboard from our friends Sue and Brian. Their boat is in the same boatyard as we are. Today we got SallyRuth on the hard and we could restore their equipment.

Varie-Max, han heter så, har varit en trevlig och pålitlig bekantskap. Det är annorlunda. Istället för en bensindunk att hålla reda på är det ett batteri. Man kör runt helt ljudlöst. Bra vänner som lånar ut!
Varie-Max, that is his name,has been a good and reliable aquaintance. It is different. In stead of looking after a gas-tank, you are handling a battery. It is absolutely silent when driving. Fantastic friends that lend it to us.

Vi lyfte upp grejerna i deras båt och passade på att kolla att allt såg bra ut. Det gjorde det. Förutom en liten detalj. På bilden ser man deras vindroder. Ungefär mitt på i en liten nisch är där ett getingbo. Invånarna tyckte inte alls om att få besök. Jag fick 2 stick som gjorde riktigt ont och rejäl hjärtklappning. Men vi räknar med att de har flyttat tills det är dags för Sue och Brian att segla igen. Vi är glada och tacksamma för lånet av motorn😃.
We got the gear up in their boat. While there we checked that everything looked ok. It did. Except for one little detail. On the picture you can see their Hydrovane, windrudder. Right in the middle there is a wasp nest. The wasps did not want company. I got stung twice. It hurt like hell and and my pulse went up. We totally rely on that they will have moved when it is time for Sue and Brian to go sailing again. We are happy and grateful for the opportunity to use the motor./L

Vännerna på plats. Friends arrived.

I eftermiddags kunde vi välkomna våra vänner Karin och Ulf. De ska segla med oss en vecka. Vi började med ett dopp i havet. Idag var varmaste dagen hittills, mer än 30 grader.
Middag åt vi på vårt stamställe To Koxuli. Så här nöjda är vi är vi efter middagen som vi avslutar med en Ouzo. Allt för matsmältningen
Imorgon ska det bli uppåt 33 grader så vi tänker dra oss ut mot Skiathos, det är svalare på öarna.
This afternoon we welcomed our friends Karin and Ulf. They will be sailing with us for the coming week.We started with a swim in the ocean. Today was the hottest day so far. More than  30 Celsius.
We had dinner åt our usual place To Koxuli. This is how content we we are afterwards. We finish with an Ouzo. Thinking of the digestion!
Tomorrow it is supposed to be even warmer, 33+

Lyckade luckor. Happy hatches.

Dags att avslöja innehåller i vårt stora paket! Nya, täta och orepiga, luckor till salong och förpik. Här är salongsluckan på plats och den gamla på väg bort. Den gamla gläder nu en grekisk båtgranne som noterat att vi hade byte på gång. Den nya gläder oss!

Time to reveal what was in our big package. New, non- leaking and clear hatches for both our roof-windows on the boat. Here the one in the saloon is replaced. We are happy for the new one. A greek boat-neighbour noticed that we were exchanging and asked for the old one. We gave it to him and hope that it will make him happy.

Rottingstolsstället, The wicker chair place

Så skönt att vara i sjön Vi hade lite strul med läckage från både båtens sjövattenpump och dieselfilteret. Far och son från varvet + 2 till som kallades in efterhand löste det jättebra. Nu tror vi det fungerar.
 Det är fortfarande en hel del pyssel innan vi är seglingsklara men nu njuter vi och tar avbrott. Som just nu, först ett dopp i havet och sedan en iskaffe  på ett av favvo-ställena. Stabilt Internet ger många plus. Dessutom har de rätt bekväma stolar.
Vi sitter i skuggan...

It is so good to be in the water. We had some hassel with leakage from the sea water pump of the engine and the diesel filter. Father and son from the boatyard+2 more who were called for solved it in a very good manner. Now everything is ok. Toi, toi.

There are still quite a few things to be cared för. But we take brakes. Like now, first we went for a swim and now we are having ice coffe at one of our favorite places. Good Internet and comfortable chairs give high ratings.

Arbete på land. Work on the hard.

Det är mycket som ska fixas innan vi kan börja segla. Vi gör det som absolut måste göras på land, t ex bottenmåla, men sedan vill vi i sjön. Igår träffade vi ett svensk/tyskt par som var arbetssugna så de hjälpte oss ett par timmar idag. Himla bra!
There is a lot to dö before we can start sailing. We do what is absolutely necessary to be on land for, like antifouling, but we prefer to be in the water. Yesterday we met a Swedish/German couple who had lots of energy. Today they helped us a few hours. Really cool.

Vi upptäckte en spricka i plasten som täcker blykölen. Då blev det till att plocka fram epoxygrejer. Tur man e van vid composit.
Imorgon sjösätter vi. Nyfiken på det stora paketet vi hade med oss. Håll koll på bloggen!
We saw a crack in the plastic that covers the led keel. We digged out the epoxy Kit. Very similar to working with composit. Other volumes.

Ich schlepp, Ich schlepp...

Alla väskorna är inte hemmagjorda. Vi har flera stycken med oss som är köpe-väskor.Jag fick dra hela lasset. Sammanlagd vikt 80 kg. Janne skulle nämligen dokumentera!

All the bags aren´t custom made. We have quite a few that are retail. I had to carry the whole load, all in all 80 kg. Janne was busy doing foto documentation!
