Efter en timmes segling siktar vi en ganska stor gummibåt. En man vinkar till oss och påkallar hjälp. Vi närmar oss sakta. Språket förstår vi inte men den kraftfulla motorn är tydligen "kaputt". Vi håller oss på avstånd och kontaktar coast-guard via telefon och VHF-radio. Det slutar med att två stora patrullbåtar anländer. En av dom tar hand om mannen och båten. Vi får besked om att det rörde sig om en människosmugglare och ett " Thank you for your cooperation". Två timmar gick åt för att cirkla runt flotten och hålla reda på dess position i kontakt !ed myndigheterna. Vi fick så småningom fin segling och en bra plats vid kajen i Pythagorion.
Our goal this trip is to get to Orei. This is on the northern part of the island of Evia. The prevaling winds over the Aegean Sea are northerly right now. We can chose to first go west and then north or the other way around. We decide to go north first, because the forcast says strong winds west of Leros. The first leg is to sail to Pyrhagorion on Samos and then continue north to Chios. So we set off. After an hours sailing we spot a rather large rubber dingy. A man waves to us and calls fo help. We slowly approach. We don´t understand his language, but obviously his engine is "kaputt".We keep a distance and contact the coastguard by phone and VHF. Two large patrolboats arrive. One of them takes care of the man and his boat. We are informed that he was a trafficker and we got a "Thank you for your cooperation". Two hours we spent circling the dingy to keep track of it´s position. Eventually we had some good sailing and a good parking on the wharf in Pythagorion.
